Made from their imagination

How your book is made

  1. A child's original crayon drawing of Zig
    They draw a monster

Any paper, any crayons, exactly as they imagined it.

  2. Theo as a storybook character, full body
We illustrate it with your child

A storybook version of your child joins their monster in every scene.

  3. My Monster's First Day of School hardcover book cover
    We print the hardcover

A real book with both of their names woven into the story.

A sneak peek

See inside the story

Turn through a few of the opening pages.

  1. Page 1: This book belongs to Theo, whose monster was brave enough for school. Zig, an orange one-eyed monster with a blue backpack, waves hello.
  2. Page 2: Today is the big day! The sun popped up. The birds sang. Today was Theo’s very first day of school!
  3. Page 3: Theo bounces out of bed in the morning sun while Zig peeks out from under the covers.
  4. Page 4: Zig hides under the bed while Theo lies on the floor, peeking under to say hello.

Let us help

Questions? Answered.

What can I personalize?

Your child’s look and first name, and the monster they drew. Their monster’s name goes into the story too.

Do I need a photo of my child?

No. You can build your child’s look without a photo. You can also upload one clear photo if you want a closer likeness.

Can I preview the story first?

Yes. You can meet both characters and see a few teaser pages before you order. The rest of the story stays a surprise.

What happens to the monster drawing?

It guides the monster’s colors, shape, eyes, and special details so the finished character still feels like theirs.

Is my child’s photo stored?

No. The original photo is only used to create their character and is not kept in your project. Only the finished illustration is saved.

What age is this book for?

Ages 3–8. It works as a read-aloud for little ones and a first read-together for early readers.

What is the book like?

A 11 × 8.5 in landscape hardcover with a glossy casewrap cover and 24 full-color pages on 80# coated white paper.

How much does it cost?

$39.99 for the hardcover plus $3.99 shipping. The character preview is free.

When will my book arrive?

Your delivery estimate and shipping total are shown before you pay. Each hardcover is printed only after your order is approved.
