A plain-language explanation of how MonstersNOW handles a child reference photo, drawing, personalization details, and order information submitted by an adult.
MonstersNOW is operated by VNI Ventures LLC. This policy covers information collected through the MonstersNOW website, creation tools, proof and ordering flow, customer support, newsletter, and related services.
MonstersNOW is designed for parents, guardians, and other adults creating or purchasing on behalf of a child. The adult must have permission to use the child photo, drawing, names, and other personalization details submitted to us.
Payment card details are handled by the checkout provider and are not stored directly by MonstersNOW. Please do not place school information, home addresses, health information, or other sensitive details in an uploaded image or drawing.

We use browser local or session storage for functions such as the cart and in-progress project. Essential cookies may be used for security or authenticated administration. We do do not use child photos or drawings for behavioral advertising.
The uploaded drawing is sent to OpenAI's image API so MonstersNOW can validate it and create the requested monster character. When child-likeness generation is requested, the child photo and selected appearance details may also be sent to an approved image-processing provider for one-time character generation. MonstersNOW does not upload the original child photo to its project storage; only the resulting private illustration is saved. The resulting images are not used to make decisions about the child.
MonstersNOW does not use child photos, drawings, personalization details, or generated characters to train its own AI models, and we do not opt customer API content into OpenAI model training. A provider may retain or process limited data for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance under its applicable terms.
AI-generated images can be imperfect. The adult reviews the child and monster character previews before ordering, and production files may receive safety, quality, or print-readiness review.
We share only the information reasonably needed with providers that perform services for us, such as AI processing, hosting, database and private-file storage, checkout and payment, email, printing, shipping, fraud prevention, and technical support. We may also disclose information when directed by the adult, during a business transfer, or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect a child or another person, investigate misuse, or defend legal rights.
Artwork is private by default. MonstersNOW does not place a child photo, drawing, review, illustrated child, or generated monster in a public area unless the adult affirmatively grants the applicable permission. Permission to show a generated monster does not automatically grant permission to show the original drawing. A child photo is never saved to the project or included in Gallery permission.
If you tick “Show my child's monster in the MonstersNOW gallery” before checkout, we add the storybook monster to our public gallery once your order is paid. It never shows your child's name, photo or drawing. Just email us and we'll take it down.
We do not sell child photos, drawings, or personalization details. If our advertising or analytics practices materially change, this policy and any legally required choice will be updated before the new practice begins.
Original child photos are processed for the requested character generation and are not saved in MonstersNOW project storage. Drawings and generated previews that are not connected to an order become eligible for operational cleanup seven days after the upload begins. Connecting a submission to an order removes those project assets from temporary-upload cleanup so we can produce, support, and, when requested, reproduce the personalized book.
Drawings, generated child and monster files, proof history, and personalization details may be retained while a submission or order is active and afterward when needed to let the adult review a proof, complete fulfillment, receive support, reproduce an approved product, or resolve a dispute. Order and transaction records are retained as needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, warranty support, and other legal obligations.
When information is no longer reasonably needed, we delete or de-identify it according to our operational and legal requirements. Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove limited copies from protected backups. Removing source files can make it impossible to reproduce or reorder the same customized product.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. An adult may also withdraw Gallery permission or marketing consent at any time. Newsletter messages include an unsubscribe method; transactional order and safety messages are not marketing.
Email hello@monstersnow.com with the order or submission details needed to locate the record. We may verify the requester's identity and authority before acting. Some information may be retained when required for an active order, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legal claims.
Children should not create accounts, enter contact details, make purchases, or upload files themselves. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13. Child-related material is accepted only from an adult who confirms the required authority.
If you believe a child submitted information without appropriate adult permission, contact us promptly. We will investigate and delete or restrict the information when appropriate, subject to safety and legal obligations.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information, including restricted access and private storage for child reference photos. No online service can promise absolute security, so please use only the information needed for the requested book.
Providers may process information in the United States or other locations where they operate. Those locations may have different privacy laws. External websites linked from MonstersNOW are governed by their own privacy practices.
